About Us
JCU Singapore Football Club was founded in October 2008 by Azad Memmedov, Robin Svendson and Jamie Reid (current students during that time). Practice sessions and friendly matches were organised periodically between October 2008 to November 2009 by these passionate students.
This new team caught the campus attention with only a single defeat by a very experienced Nigerian Team despite numerous matches. In November 2009, the team joined ESPZEN Amateur Leagues at Division 9. Strong match performances saw promotions over 3 consequentive seasons. The team now stands at 2nd place in our 4th season in Division 6.
Our team boost of a truly multi national team with players from Azerbaijan, Scotland, England, India, Australia, Vietnam, Sweden, Norway, Indonesia, Germany, France, Thailand, Ukraine, Japan, Burma and of course Singapore. The team spirit exemplified by JCUFC is something of which we are all extremely proud. Andre Kolhmann, Chris Tauobi, Timothy Savet and Robin Svendsen from the team are also playing for Cosmo League Football which is the best amateur league in Singapore.
All our players have proven themselves on the fields and are excellent assets of JCU Singapore. Player / Coach Jamie Reid has played semi-professional football in Scotland and National Football League Division 1 in Singapore. Mature student Simon Craft has been an excellent addition to the squad bringing experience and encouragement to our football.
Vision & Goal
Our club aims to provide a comprehensive football experience for members by giving them a chance to learn and develop their skills in a supportive environment.
We hope to complete our fellow student's experience at JCU Singapore with a healthy pursue of sports excellence. Another goal of the team is to continue our promotion up the divisions in the ESPZEN league. We believe this goal is very achievable with our existing talents and new team mates from each intake.
