Dr Desti worked in India, Malaysia, Dubai, Vietnam and Singapore. Prior to joining JCU Singapore 2011, Dr Desti worked as a Senior Lecturer, Middlesex University Dubai Campus and RMIT University Hanoi, Vietnam. He has been teaching at Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels for the past 28 years. Until recently, he was the Head of Accounting Department of a leading business school in Singapore. He has been an examiner for a number of UK universities since 1999. Currently, Dr Desti is an external examiner of PhD degree, University of Madras, Sathyabama University, Mother Teresa University, Annamalai University, Bharathiyar University, Bharathidasan University, Thiruvalluvar University and Nagarjuna University India. He has presented several conference papers and written journal articles across a range of disciplines.
Dr Desti will enjoy teaching and working in an academically challenging environment. It is also his desire to add an International and cultural dimension to his targeted position. The ideal career that he envisioned for himself combines teaching and research at a major university, and consultative which is one of the attractions of joining JCU Singapore.
Dr Desti was awarded the Best Lecturer of the Year 2013 by JCU Singapore. He was awarded the title of “Best Overall Lecturer Award” by the Thames Business School, Informatics Group Singapore. He has compiled a lecture materials on Financial Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting at Diploma, Higher Diploma and Degree levels in Singapore. He was also a Course Development Chair SIM University, Singapore in 2005 and 2006. His focus is to see that learning opportunities are relevant, meaningful and engaging to students. Ensuring each student becomes confidently equipped with the relevant skills required in the wider community is his professional aim.
