James Cook University’s Graduate Certificate of Career Development is an accredited course designed to enhance your qualifications in the fields of career education and career guidance and counselling. You may choose to further your studies into a Master of Guidance and Counselling.
The Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) has endorsed the Graduate Certificate of Career Development delivered by James Cook University as meeting the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners.
The Graduate Certificate of Career Development offers a pathway into the Master of Guidance and Counselling for those who do not meet the entry requirement concerning an appropriate degree.
This program is available to Singapore citizens, Singapore PR or Dependant Pass Holders
Students are required to complete 4 core subjects (12 credit points).

Students who have successfully completed a Master of Guidance and Counselling degree or postgraduate equivalent may apply for advanced standing for the core subjects Foundations of Counselling Theory and Career and Leisure Guidance and Counselling.

Successful completion of a recognised undergraduate degree
Entry requirements for this course are consistent with the Pathways to Qualifications in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF level 8) Guidelines for Masters degrees. (Further information on AQF can be found at www.aqf.edu.au)
IELTS 6.5 (no component lower than 6.0)/TOEFL iBT 90 (with minimum writing score of 21)/TOEFL (paper based) 570 (plus minimum Test of Written English score of 4.5)/Pearson (PTE Academic) 64 or
Satisfactory completion of James Cook University English Language Preparatory Program Level 4
Students who have successfully completed 2 years of full-time study in English medium may satisfy the English language requirement on a case-by-case basis
As this is a professional training programme, students are required to attend all classes.

James Cook University is EduTrust Certified. The EduTrust certification scheme is administered by the Committee for Private Education (CPE), a part of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
EduTrust requires all students to be covered under a Fee Protection Scheme. In James Cook University, this is provided through an insurance protection scheme. Further, EduTrust also
requires that the students must be covered under a medical insurance coverage which has provision for hospitalisation, surgery and treatment costs throughout their course duration.
James Cook University will advise in the Standard Student Contract the total amount of insurance payable.
