Speaker Profile

Dr Sanveen Kang

Lecturer Psychology

Dr Sanveen Kang is a Clinical Psychologist who is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and holds professional memberships with the Australian Psychological Society (APS), APS Clinical College and Singapore Psychological Society. Sanveen has been practicing as a Clinical Psychologist in Singapore since 2008. Her clinical professional experience extends to practising as a Clinical and Corporate Consultant Psychologist at The Institute of Mental Health (IMH), National University Hospital (NUH: Gastrointestinal and Paediatric Departments) and Head of the Psychology Department in a child therapy centre. Sanveen has clinical experience working with children, adolescents and their families in addition to couples and adults. Her experience spans across areas of mental and physical health in a wide range of settings including hospitals, private practice, educational and corporate settings. Sanveen continues clinical practice working with children, adolescents and their families through the private sector.

Associate Professor Carol Choo 

Director of Professional Programs / Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology

Associate Professor Carol Choo is a registered clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a board approved clinical supervisor with Psychology Board of Australia, Singapore Register of Psychologists, and a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society and Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Psychologists.

Carol has worked as a psychologist since 1999 in Australia and Singapore, and has accumulated professional experience in various sectors e.g. mental health, disability, crisis counselling and youth work. She has worked in a diverse range of settings, e.g. as Senior Psychologist on the psychiatric ward, clinician on the crisis assessment and treatment team, case manager in community mental health, and as a consultant psychologist.  She also started a pilot program for children and adolescents as principal psychologist.  In addition, Carol has worked in private practice and provided research and clinical supervision.

Her current research interests are in the area of clinical psychology, e-mental health interventions, and suicide prevention. She has supervised theses (to completion) on suicide study, mental health, wellbeing, resilience, stress, depression, self-esteem, mental health interventions across the lifespan, and trauma resilience.
