Overview

This webinar on the future of retailing will focus on the road ahead for retailers in the wake of the devastating effect the pandemic has had on this sector. We will discuss the lessons that retailers can learn from this pandemic and how retail organisations could improve their risk assessment and resiliency in the future to adopt agile strategies. The discussion will explore perspectives on the future of retail supply chain, retail innovation and cybersecurity risks with the panel comprising a retail practitioner, an academic and a cybersecurity expert.

Moderator:

Dr Malobi Mukherjee
Lecturer, Business
James Cook University, Singapore


Before joining James Cook University, Singapore, Dr Mukherjee worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute on Asian Consumer Insight (ACI) in Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University. Prior to this she was a Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute of Retail Management in the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, where she currently holds a Visiting Research Position.

Previously, she has held teaching positions at the University of Manchester and at London Metropolitan University. Her research interests focus on international retail development in emerging markets and she adopts the scenario planning methodology to study the future of retail development in emerging markets. She has experience in working with retailers such as John Lewis, Sainsbury’s, and global companies such as AMDOCS in her capacity as a researcher and consultant.

Mr. Prashant Nayak, CFE, BCCS
Vice President Global Security, (APAC& Middle East) at The Walt Disney Company    


Prashant has over 26 years work experience in the Corporate Security domain having managed areas of Physical Security, Information Risk, Crisis Management, Global Financial security in the banking and hospitality. At Walt Disney he manages Global Security for APAC and the Middle East.
