JCU Success Workshop (Building Confidence in Yourself by Joan Belen)
Overview
This bite sized one-hour session intends to enable participants to better recognize, manage and boost their confidence levels. This is not about changing people; rather, it is about moving in the direction of a growth mindset in building confidence for daily life and work.
Speaker Profile
 | Ms Joan Alaine C. Belen Manager, Counselling and Progressions A Student Counsellor from the Philippines, Joan came to Singapore in 2008 and is now the Manager for Counselling and Progressions at James Cook University, Singapore. She received a Master of Guidance and Counselling from James Cook University, Singapore in 2016 under the JCUS CET Sponsorship. Prior to joining JCU, she held various positions as a Psychometrician, Career Counsellor and Guidance Counsellor in the Philippines from the year 2000 to 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology under her belt. She has previously studied Master of Arts Major in Psychology with specialization in School Psychology at the Philippine Women’s University, Taft Avenue, Manila, Philippines, from 2001 to 2007. Her innate passion and enthusiasm to work with all kinds of people, especially the youth and young adults in an academic environment is her strongest driving force. She promotes a mindset that students can achieve their goals through a dedication and belief that anyone will be able to make positive changes given the right opportunities and adequate support. |
