JCU Success Workshop (A Student Leader’s Role in Conflict Management)

Overview

Student leaders play a pivotal role in managing conflicts in their clubs and organisations. The aim of this workshop is to raise awareness and extend the dialogue about identifying causes of conflict and some effective ways in managing conflicts amongst students. It is imperative that student leaders learn to manage conflicts in their organisations so that they can maintain harmony and work together to achieve their goals.

Dr Nimrod L. DelanteDr. Nimrod L. Delante

Nimrod finished his undergraduate degree (B.S. in Secondary Education majoring in English) in 2003 at Leyte Normal University in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines. In 2006, he completed his Master’s degree (M.A. in English Language and Literature Teaching) at the Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, Philippines. He taught English, Literature, Academic Writing and Communication courses in the Philippines between 2003 and 2010. In 2011, he arrived in Singapore and taught as an English teacher in one of Singapore’s international schools. Since 2012, he has been working as a learning advisor at the Singapore campus of James Cook University. In August 2019, Nimrod completed his doctoral degree (Doctor of Communication) at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU). In March 2020, he started lecturing at JCU Singapore Business School. Nimrod has been promoted to senior learning advisor in mid-2021. In October 2021, Nimrod completed a certificate in business analytics at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School Executive Education.
