Summary
In the mid-1960s, during the Cold War, the world lived in fear of the nuclear bomb, as the Soviet Union and United States threatened to unleash on each other what came to be called MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction). Today, about fifty years later, perhaps climate change represents the world’s greatest fear, threatening to unleash an arsenal of natural disasters, which may flood large portions of the populated world, including Singapore, and wreak havoc on our food supply. Yes, climate change does indeed represent a grave threat. However, instead of cowering in fear and building their personal life rafts, our expert panel see opportunities for making long overdue changes, changes which will not only lessen the destruction of climate change but also make our world a happier, healthier place.
