Homestead Halls isn’t just about beautiful student accommodation, it’s about coming home to an awesome living and learning community that will take you further. Their communal living concept and tailor-made programme ensure international students ease quickly into Singapore and make lifelong friends, while helping them develop the critical skills today’s employers want.

To complement today’s style of collaborative learning, they have brought the group and private study spaces outside the bedroom. Their sleeper cabins are fitted with privacy blinds to give you a private sanctuary for sleeping. The hall is perfectly located near the city centre and universities, and come fully equipped with everything you need, including free high speed WiFi, utilities, housekeeping, etc.

Tessensohn Hall is located in Farrer Park area. The closest MRT station is Farrer Park MRT. It is about 5 minutes’ walk from the accommodation. Students can take various buses around the accommodation location to reach the campus. Students can take Bus 67 at the bus stop after Kempas Road on Lavender Street. Alight at Yi Xiu Factory Building on Sims Avenue after 7 stops. From there. It will be a 5 minutes’ walk to the campus. Students can also take Bus 21 at the bus stop at Block 122 on Mcnair Road and alight at Yi Xiu Factory Building on Sims Avenue after 6 stops. Both journeys will take about 30 minutes. As for returning to the accommodation from the campus, students can take the bus (Bus 125) from Block 45, Sims Drive. Alight at Sri Vadapathira K Temple on Serangoon Road, 19 stops later and walk to the accommodation. This journey takes about 40 minutes.

Access to the hostel is by access card at the main entrance. After getting access through the gates, students will be required to take the stairs to their respective rooms. CCTV are located at various points on the first level of the hostel. Students can choose to use the washer and dryer located at the first floor. Each wash cost $3 and drying cost $1 depending on the size of the laundry. For facilities, there is a common area at the first floor where students can watch the TV and hangout. There is a roof top open area for students to chill around. As for amenities, students can go to the nearby shopping malls and food centres.

Other Information

Students interested in staying at any of the Halls of Residence must submit an application through the Homestead Halls website or indicate their interest by booking on JCU’s Pre-arrival Booking System. Only accepted applicants will be invited to be a resident.

Should a resident show repeated disregard of the Hall rules or is deemed disruptive to the Hall community, he/she might be evicted from the Hall or forbidden to renew his/her residency for a new term.
