In response to the 2019 new coronavirus, the Singapore campus of James Cook University has put in place a set of protective measures and advice to keep our students and staff healthy and safe, as well as to better mitigate risks and minimise disruption.

Students

Who you are / your situation:

Action required

All students

  • Temperature screening is required each time when entering the temporary student reception (located at the roundabout area in front of Student Affairs department after entry from the main entrance) or Guardhouse.
  • Attendance will be taken by teaching staff instead of via the biometric readers.

Students returning to Campus for the first time

  • Complete the Health Declaration form to declare their health status and travel history.
  • Participate in temperature screening.

Students reporting for exams

  • Report to the campus at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled exam time to ensure temperature screening and declaration.

New students

  • Complete the Health Declaration form to declare their health status and travel history.
  • Participate in temperature screening.

Affected students – students who have been in Mainland China or are currently within the Stay-Home Notice.

  • Comply with the Stay-Home Notice from the date of arrival into Singapore.
  • Produce the photo ID and Airline Boarding Pass for verification at the University main entrance.

Staff

Who you are / your situation:

Action required

All Staff

  • Temperature screening is required each time when entering the temporary student reception (located at the roundabout area in front of Student Affairs department after entry from the main entrance) or Guardhouse.
  • Compulsory for all front-office/student-facing staff to wear surgical masks.
  • Approach the Facilities staff at A3-02 to take your temperature whilst at work if you are not feeling well. You can also approach the Guard House, Student Affairs or Reception.

Susceptible staff – including staff having/recovering from cough, cold, chest infections, other illnesses and/or are 55 years and above

  • Student-facing staff 55 and above be relieved of their front office duties/work from home.
  • Back-office staff 55 and above work from home where possible/subject to exigencies of duties as discussed by Manager.

Visitors

  • Complete the Health Declaration form to declare their health status and travel history.
  • Temperature screening is required each time when entering the temporary student reception (located at the roundabout area in front of Student Affairs department after entry from the main entrance) or Guardhouse.
