Business & Society Engagements

Leveraging our substantive links to international business as well as professional bodies, the JCU Singapore Business School delivers business learning experiences that contribute to society via our research, consultancy, and graduate outcomes.

We prepare graduates for the challenges of life in the Tropics and beyond. We provide a broad foundation of core skills and knowledge that introduce students to the essentials of business  - from relationships between business and society in the Tropics, to understanding consumers, dealing with data, and the roles of communication and sustainability in business. Our research, in particular, has business and societal engagement at its core, and we regularly engage with the private and public sectors internationally.

CEOs’ Lounge

We regularly hold an interface between the business community in Singapore and our students, through ‘The CEOs' lounge’. In a session held on 14 April 2023, the theme was "Business trends & graduate talent: What is expected in a post-COVID world?". The event was well attended by staff and students who had fruitful interactions and networking opportunities with the seven CEOs from various industries, including banking, fund organisations, trade offices, and business associations. The students showcased their abilities via a business idea pitching competition, and received developmental feedback from the CEOs, underscoring JCU Singapore's commitment to providing students with opportunities to become "employer-confident graduates" who are ready for work. These efforts are consistent with JCU Singapore's transformative education, which includes a work-integrated learning element.
