Healthy Ageing Lecture #1: Life expectancy & other factors in the Western Pacific Region
By evaluating the Global Burden of Disease (GDB) [Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, Washington U, Results Tool 2017], this webinar will focus on health variables, epidemiological indicators and “Years Lived in Disability and Mortality” in countries in the Western Pacific Region, and data for those 70-94 years old in the region. The data will reveal possibilities for more regional health policy and planning for countries in the Western Pacific Region, as well as potential changes in key indicators of health for those aged 70+ over the past two decades.

Speaker Profile
 | Professor Molasiotis Professor Molasiotis is currently the Chair Professor of Nursing, Endowed Professor in Health & Longevity and Head of School of Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is also the Director of WHO Collaborating centre in Community Health Services at the Polytechnic University, the only centre with such focus in south east Asia. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Oncology Nursing. He has been a Bloomberg International Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto and a Visiting Professor at the Australian Catholic University (Sydney), and the National University of Singapore. He is currently Visiting or Adjunct Professor at: Kings College London, UK; Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden; University of Technology Sydney, Australia; James Cook University, Cairns, Australia; Fujian University of TCM, and Sichuan University, China. He has over 270 international publications in peer-reviewed journals and several millions of dollars in research funding over the past years. |
