IT on Campus provides you important information and assistance about Information Technology in the Singapore campus of James Cook University.

Technology is a fast changing area and the Information and Communications Technology team at James Cook University is here to help you change along with it. As a student or member of staff, we aim to make sure that your experience with information and communication technology at JCU meets your needs and exceeds your expectations. 

The ICT portal provides essential information on different IT services including :

  3. Wireless setup and more with detailed step-by-step guides to using them.

Major Power Shutdown

Scheduled Major Maintenance – Power Shutdown

All Services will be unavailable from Friday, 25 September 7PM onward till Sunday, 27 September 7PM.

When Friday, 25 September 7:00 PM – Sunday, 27 September  7:00 PM
Description All Network infrastructure services will be turned off as there will be a Power shutdown across all blocks in the Sims Drive campus and at SingPost office location.
Impact All critical and non-critical services within the campus will be affected till the power services are restored.

This includes :

  • Internet (both wired and wireless),
  • O365 including Email and Calendaring,
  • JCU Website,
  • LearnJCU,
  • Printing services,
  • Finance applications like CRM etc
  • Facility booking system
  • Phones

All Staff and Students can still access services listed below outside the campus without interruption, eg., via Internet at home or public Wi-Fi or via 3G/4G data on their smart devices .

  • O365 including Email and Calendaring
  • JCU Website

We expect all services to resume normal operations once the Power feed is resumed
