Our lunchtime learning employability workshops are complimentary career preparation and workplace skill development sessions designed in-line with industry needs based on outcomes from the annual JCU Singapore Employers' Survey. The aim is to equip students with strong resumes and interview skills to land employment offers, and further upskill to excel at the workplace.
What’s more! Students are presented with Certificates of Achievements in recognition of their participation, extra efforts, and initiatives to better their professional and personal development which showcases the high level of career-readiness to future employers.
Student Stories
Elisha Kang, Bachelor of Psychological Science
| “Attending the Employability Workshops have been a transformative experience for me. The "Present & Speak Confidently" session was particularly impactful, providing practical strategies to communicate more effectively and engage an audience. The workshops are thoughtfully designed, addressing the real-world skills that employers seek, as highlighted by the annual James Cook University Employers' Survey. I also found the sessions on "Build Up! Resume & Interview Skills" and "Develop Personal Effectiveness & Productivity" incredibly valuable, as they helped me understand how to present myself professionally and improve my productivity. These workshops have significantly boosted my confidence and prepared me better for future career opportunities.” |
Tran Mai Khanh Linh, Master of Psychological Science (Majoring in Business Psychology)
| “The Employability Workshops were incredibly valuable in helping me build essential skills for my professional growth, including networking, resume building, critical thinking, communication, and leadership. The facilitators were engaging, knowledgeable, and created a supportive environment for learning. These workshops gave me the confidence and foundation to connect with new friends and professionals, both in and out of campus events. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to strengthen their professional toolkit and achieve career success. They were truly a game-changer for me!” |
