The Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee (AVCC) and the Australian Government recognise the need to ensure that the potential benefits of the provision of education by Australian universities to international students are fully realised for both students and the host institutions.

The Code and Guidelines outline recommended procedures for Australian universities offering services to international students. They provide a checklist to enable Australian universities to ensure their practices are consistent with the Code.
