This public lecture will cover and understand the key principles of Corporate Strategy, how innovation is a key driver for business success, as well as the importance of Innovation to Venture Capitalists. This lecture also aims to highlight key criteria that Venture Capitalists look out for in a Startup, including focus points from Venture Capitalists on Fund Raising and finally, the challenges faced by Startup companies.

![]() | Dr Hina Munir Dr. Hina Munir is a Lecturer in Business at James Cook University in Singapore. She is enthusiastic about imparting knowledge that fosters critical thinking, advances understanding, and contributes meaningfully to society. With entrepreneurship as her primary research area and a strong track record of publishing in impact factor journals, she strives to create a positive impact both in the classroom and in the broader community. Her passion for entrepreneurship has enabled her to spark curiosity among students and equip them with the skills they need to thrive in dynamic environments. She holds a PhD in Management Sciences and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. Her research focuses on entrepreneurial intentions, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, academic entrepreneurship, personality and cognition, industry-university linkages, gendered entrepreneurship, and the integration of entrepreneurship with other management disciplines. She has authored or co-authored several papers in esteemed journals, including the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research, Journal of Technology Transfer, Project Management Journal, International Journal of Managing Projects in Business, Environment, Science and Pollution Research, European Journal of Innovation Management, Asian Journal of Technology Management, Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, and the Journal of Global Entrepreneurship, among others. She has received the Outstanding Paper and Outstanding Reviewer awards from the Emerald Literati Awards in 2020. These accomplishments highlight her strong commitment to advancing both academic research and impactful teaching. |

Specialising in merger and acquisition, corporate restructuring, and change management, they bring strong strategic and operational expertise. They have also lectured at institutions including Curtin University, University of Newcastle, James Cook University, University of Sunderland, Heriot-Watt University, and Bangor University, teaching at degree, Master’s, and doctoral levels. |
