Research Spotlight Series #1 – Educational Futures: Integrity, Technology, and Risk

This public lecture will discuss two topics: Generative AI in Education and Educational Fraud and Dishonesty. Confusion is common among these two topics. Firstly, focus is given to the relevance of GenAI to educational assessment, teaching, and scholarly publishing. Secondly, we discuss the impacts of technology on enabling academic fraud and the risks to integrity in higher education.

Dr Jasper Roe FHEA

Head of Department, JCU Language School
James Cook University Singapore


Jasper is a social scientist and educationalist with a broad portfolio of research expertise. His primary focus is on Generative AI, educational futures, and academic integrity. Jasper also focuses on analysing the relationship between language and society, discourse, news media, and culture.
