Dr Peter S. Hofman joins James Cook University in Singapore as a Professor of Business from 1 September 2022.

James Cook University (JCU) in Singapore is pleased and proud to welcome Dr Peter S. Hofman, a renowned academic and researcher, as a Professor of Business. Professor Hofman’s teaching and research covers a wide range of business-government-society interactions, with emphasis on the areas of sustainability and innovation from a policy as well as business perspective.

Professor Hofman was a Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance at Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) China. He also served as Dean, Associate Dean, Head of Department and Director of Undergraduate Programmes at the Faculty of Business at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China; He was also the academic accreditation lead at NUBS China.

His career has included the publication of numerous articles, books, book chapters and reports — on corporate social responsibility in Europe and China, innovation in SMEs, energy system innovation to sustainability, governance of sustainable innovation, technology transfer and sustainable business strategies — across various academic journals. In addition, he has successfully led a number of research grants in the areas of corporate social responsibility and human resource management, eco-innovation in Chinese firms, and finance mechanisms for diffusion of clean technologies.

Moreover, Professor Hofman has extensive experience in the field of consulting. He was previously was a Director at Cyclus consultancy and a consultant for various international and local firms in the Netherlands in the areas of cleaner production, environmental management and corporate social responsibility. His consulting history ranges from manufacturing industry to construction, education and healthcare, and will lend real-world experience to his teachings.
