James Cook University, Singapore and Ton Duc Thang University collaborate to foster joint training opportunities and scientific research.

On 25 July 2023, in a notable step towards promoting collaboration and mutual growth, James Cook University (JCU), Singapore, and Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This collaborative effort aims to strengthen connections in scientific research and training opportunities, offering new avenues for fostering talent development in the tropical region.

The signing ceremony saw the presence of representatives from both universities. Representing JCU, Singapore were Professor Chris Rudd OBE, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Head of Campus, and Professor May Tan-Mullins, Dean International and Chief Sustainability Officer.

TDTU was represented by Associate Professor Pham Thi Minh Ly, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, along with representatives from the Board of Directors and School Council, and Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach, Director of the International Cooperation, Research, and Training Institute, along with faculty and lecturers responsible for international cooperation.

Professor Chris Rudd OBE said, "We are thrilled to formalise this collaboration with Ton Duc Thang University, as it opens up exciting opportunities for both institutions to advance in joint training and scientific research. Through this alliance, we look forward to facilitating students and researchers in their pursuit of academic achievements and making meaningful contributions to society."

The MoU encompasses various key areas, including the support of exchange programs, study-abroad opportunities, and cultural exchanges. Both universities will also engage in organising conferences, seminars, and scientific and academic forums, further enhancing collaboration in training and scientific research.

The signing of this MoU is a culmination of years of engagement and coordination between the two universities.
