Mr Philip Forrest awarded in 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List

Congratulations to Mr Philip Forrest AM, a member of the Advisory Board at James Cook University in Singapore, for being appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.

Mr Philip Forrest AM, a member of the Advisory Board at James Cook University (JCU) in Singapore and the Chair of its Sub-Committee for the Business School, was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia on 13 June 2022. He was recognised for significant service to Australia-Singapore business relations, as he serves as a Singapore-based independent company director focused on the Australia/ASEAN commercial relationship, as well as a Council Member of both the Singapore Institute of Directors and Australian Alumni Singapore.

The award was named in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List — which recognises outstanding service and inspiring achievements in Queensland, Australia and abroad. Mr Forrest’s award is among 23 Queenslanders who were appointed Members of the Order of Australia (AM) and 119 Queenslanders who were named in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Mr Forrest said, “I’m thrilled but also humbled by this appointment. I’ve been fortunate to have lived and worked in Singapore for more than three decades, and to have known so many inspiring people and organisations. I’m hugely excited by the progress and achievements of James Cook University, Singapore; I feel very privileged to be a small part of the talented JCU team.”

Professor Chris Rudd OBE, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Head of Campus, Singapore at JCU, said, “Phil is truly a generous supporter of JCU. As the Chair of the Advisory Board Sub-Committee for the Business School, he has contributed to our excellence in education as well as our AACSB journey and accreditation. His recognition as a Member of the Order of Australia is richly deserved.”
