We look forward to work with and be inspired by the bright young minds at JCU to push boundaries and lead the industry in cutting-edge technology and sustainable science-and-evidence farming practices.”

Professor Dean Jerry, Acting Dean of Research at the Singapore campus of JCU, commented, “Oceanus Tech, being a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest land-based farms and integrated premium seafood supply-chain manager that embraces targeted innovation as part of their core business strategy, fits perfectly with JCU’s intent to deliver aquaculture training and R&D in Singapore. Under the terms of the MOU, JCU and Oceanus Tech will cooperate and exchange ideas relating to aquaculture R&D, particularly in the areas relating to genetics, husbandry and aquatic animal health. Both parties will also collaborate as technology partners in the delivery of aquaculture R&D to commercial and government end-users for future projects awarded to Oceanus Tech.

Oceanus Tech was established in April 2017 as part of the Group’s thrust to sharpen its competitive edge, enhance productivity and manage risks more efficiently. Oceanus Tech had recently secured its first consultancy project from a prominent SGX-listed agriculture group to provide R&D-related services and studies. The maiden revenue of this project was recognised in the financial quarter ended June 30, 2017.

JCU will be bringing into Singapore their expertise in aquaculture training, as well as R&D expertise in genetics, selective breeding, nutrition and aquatic animal health.
