Biography
Chris is an Associate Professor of Accounting from the JCU Cairns campus and is currently on secondment at the Singapore campus. He has a PhD in management accounting from Massey University in New Zealand and has also completed an undergraduate degree in economics and a master’s in accounting. Prior to commencing with JCU in Cairns in 2006, Chris held academic posts with the University of Waikato (NZ), the University of Southern Queensland and Massey University (NZ). His primary teaching expertise is management accounting at both undergraduate and post graduate levels. He also has extensive experience teaching management accounting and financial management to Executive MBA students. Chris is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) and prior to commencing an academic career he worked in the oil and pharmaceutical industries, holding both accounting and operational roles. Chris has published in a range of leading accounting journals including Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Accounting Education: An International Journal, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Journal of Accounting Education and Advances in Accounting Behavioral Research.
