Biography
Dr Jennifer Chong holds a Ph.D. in Business from Curtin University and is a Lecturer at James Cook University (Singapore Campus), where she specialises in accounting, corporate governance, and strategic decision-making. She brings a unique blend of rigorous research expertise, professional accounting credentials, and practical engagement in higher education.
Jennifer's scholarly work centres on understanding how accounting practices, board composition, and diversity drive organisational performance. Her research explores board capital, gender diversity in leadership, big data analytics investments, and environmental reporting, grounded in the conviction that evidence-based governance and financial stewardship creates measurable organisational value. Her published work appears in leading SSCI and ABDC-ranked journals including the Journal of General Management and Gender in Management: An International Journal.
Beyond research, Jennifer is deeply committed to teaching excellence. She teaches across accounting, strategic management, and quantitative methods at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels. Her expertise in R statistical software and advanced quantitative methodology enriches her teaching, equipping students with practical skills for evidence-based decision-making in financial and strategic context.
Jennifer also contributes to the broader academic community through guest lectures on research methodology, web scraping, and textual analysis in R. Her speaking engagements and conference presentations reflect her passion for translating research into actionable insights for practitioners.
