Qualifications
- Carole-Anne holds a first class degree from the University of London, where she studied French and Drama and was awarded numerous prizes.
- She began her academic career as a Lecturer in Drama at the University of Hull, drawing on professional experience as a theatre practitioner, completing a Postgraduate Teaching Certificate in Higher Education and later becoming a Senior Tutor and Deputy Dean.
Biography
Previously Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Middlesex University with responsibility for Global Innovation and Impact, including oversight of overseas campuses and partnerships, and DVC for Research, Knowledge Exchange and Engagement. As Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of Arts and Creative Industries at Middlesex she headed up a leading practice-based Faculty while continuing her own teaching and research as Professor of Theatre, specialising in translation for performance, directing and contemporary theatre practice.
She held the Chair in Drama at the University of Ulster from 2004-2012.
Carole-Anne has held board directorships in higher education, the arts and a health charity, including Vice-Chair of the Board at LAMDA, a world-leading Drama School and examinations business in London. Alongside her institutional responsibilities she has provided academic leadership nationally and internationally with a variety of sector and cross-sector bodies, including research councils, Universities UK, the Quality Assurance Agency and AdvanceHE and chairing the Research Excellence Network at London Higher.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
