Biography

Adaline is a clinical psychologist who joined JCU (Singapore) in January 2016. Her current responsibilities are lecturing on the postgraduate and undergraduate psychology courses, providing clinical supervision to clinical psychologists-in-training, as well as research supervision. She also works with adults who require psychological interventions in the private sector.

Prior to joining JCU, Adaline headed the psychological services in Singapore Prison Service.  While she was Head of psychological services in Singapore Prison Service, Adaline was responsible for assessment and intervention services for both prison staff and offenders. Apart from managing a team of psychologists, Adaline also advised on policies pertaining to the assessment, management, and treatment of psychological and behavioural problems. In addition, she provided professional consultation to other ministries, social service agencies, and criminal law advisory committees.

Adaline is proficient in intelligence testing, assessments of memory and cognitive abilities, and personality assessments. She is also trained and qualified in the use of evidence-based tools for assessing criminal behaviours. In terms of intervention, she is trained and experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Schema-Focused Therapy. With her background in criminal justice, she has also treated those with problems pertaining to violence (e.g., domestic violence, general aggressive behaviours), sex offending, substance-use, and theft.
