Biography
Yong Jie is an Associate Lecturer in Psychology at James Cook University, Singapore. He previously worked as the psychology lab technician at JCUS before transiting to a full time faculty role. He specialises in personality and social psychology. Particularly, Yong Jie’s primary area of research focus is on the psychological construct of curiosity (e.g., curiosity can stem from a genuine enjoyment of learning or from a desire to reduce the discomfort of not knowing), in relation to video gaming engagement and addiction. His research offers valuable insights for a range of stakeholders, including game developers on ways to create more engaging video games.
