Biography
Yong Jie is a Lecturer in Psychology at James Cook University in Singapore. He previously worked as the psychology lab technician at JCU Singapore before transiting to a full-time faculty role. He specialises in personality and social psychology. Particularly, Yong Jie’s primary area of research focus is on the psychological construct of curiosity (e.g., curiosity can stem from a genuine enjoyment of learning or from a desire to reduce the discomfort of not knowing), in relation to video gaming engagement and addiction. His research offers valuable insights for a range of stakeholders, including game developers on ways to create more engaging video games.
