Biography

Dr. Zilmiyah Kamble is working with James Cook University, Singapore as a Senior Lecturer in Hospitality and Tourism management. She brings in a wealth of experience both in the tourism industry and academics, which she truly shares with her students. She has work experience that spans over five different countries (UK, Seychelles, India, Malaysia and currently Singapore). Her industry experience includes working with well-known hospitality organisations such as Banyan Tree, Hilton and Compass group. Her academic experience has been in the areas of Tourism, Events and Hospitality management courses at both Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels. Apart from teaching, she has led curriculum development teams and has been a member of the board of studies in approving and developing tourism and hospitality courses at different levels. She has consulted for training initiatives at the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism. She is also actively involved with leading journals as a reviewer of research papers and gained experience through membership of the scientific committees for conferences. Her diverse research interests include tourism planning and development, destination governance, social cultural impacts or sociology of tourism as well as hospitality management.
