Biography

Dr Ratna is a lecturer in Organizational Behavior and Management and brings over ten years of teaching undergraduate experience to James Cook University Singapore. Her research focuses on employee skills development and the different pathways corporate organizations could explore with diverse stakeholders to tackle challenges in manpower, time and financial resources. Her PhD thesis titled Achieving Triple Win with Skills Based Volunteering unveils a value co-creation model that emphasizes aligning employee volunteer's skills, project scope, time commitment and pre-training to ensure a match with stakeholders expectations. She is also interested in Experiential- Based Learning, a powerful way creating new knowledge through the transformation of their experiences. Her publications include high ranking journals of Academy of Management[Proceedings] and Thunderbird International Business Review. She is familiar with both qualitative and quantitative research methods including literature review, conceptual frameworks, interviews, surveys, coding and thematic analysis via MAXQDA, and structural equation modeling using SmartPls. Dr Ratna also serves her time, professional skills and financial acumen as an advisory committee member and as a mentor to underpriveleged students registered with nonprofit organisations based in Singapore.
