Eligibility & Requirements
Entry Requirements
- Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree at this or another University within the past 10 years; or
- Other qualifications/experience deemed to be equivalent, as approved by the Deputy-Vice Chancellor, Division of Tropical Health and Medicine.

English Requirements
- Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of IELTS 6 (no component lower than 6.0) / TOEFL (Internet Based) 74 (no component less than 18) / Pearson PTE Academic 52 (no component less than 52); or C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 169
(no component less than 169) or ISLPR At least 3 in each skill area or AEMG English for Academic Purposes Direct Entry Program (AEAP DEP) Final Exam Overall 65% with no exam sub-score below 65%; or - Satisfactory completion of relevant level/s of James Cook University Singapore English Language Preparatory Program (ELPP); or
- Completing a course of study delivered in English or experience in an English speaking workplace may help you demonstrate the English language skills you need at JCU.
Advanced Standing
- Students may apply for credit for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Credit Transfer Procedure. Credit will be granted only for subjects completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.
- Those applicants who have an AQF level 7 psychology-based degree, are eligible to be credited 12 credit points for the four core subjects:
- Biological, Behavioural, and Cognitive Psychology
- Social and Organisational Psychology
- Individual Differences and Lifespan Development
- Foundations of Research Methods and Statistics
Attendance Requirements
International students holding a valid Student's Pass are required to attend at least 90% of scheduled classes per month. Failure to attend classes is a breach of the student visa conditions. Being absent from classes for a continuous period of seven days or more, or attendance falling below 90% without valid reasons will result in the student needing to surrender their Student's Pass for cancellation
Domestic students must attend at least 75% of the scheduled lecture and tutorial activities to be eligible for assessment.
