Professional Services

We offer psychological assistance to JCU students as well as the public. Children, adolescents, adults and families are assisted at the JCU Singapore Psychology Clinic.

We deal with a wide range of problems which may be causing personal distress and/ or adversely affecting relationships and performance at home, school or work.

Confidential psychological assessment and/ or psychotherapy is offered in a private and comfortable environment, at minimal cost, for a wide range of emotional, behavioural and cognitive challenges. These include:

  • Developmental, intellectual and cognitive functioning
  • Learning difficulties which impact on academic performance
  • Attention, concentration and activity regulation difficulties
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Grief and loss
  • Stress and life crises and adjustment difficulties
  • Anxiety, phobias and panic attacks
  • Bullying, disruptive or oppositional behavior
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Emotional, physical and sexual abuse
  • Memory and aging related concerns

The Clinical Team

Psychological services are provided by JCU Singapore students who are completing post-graduate practical training at the JCU Singapore Psychology Clinic to qualify as Clinical Psychologists. These intern clinical psychologists work under the direction of the Clinic Manager and are supervised by qualified Clinical Psychologists. The clinical team has significant experience gathered in local and international universities, hospitals, health agencies, private practice and corporate settings.

Services offered by the clinic are conducted in accordance with the professional and ethical codes of practice of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Singapore Psychological society (SPS).

Referrals

Please call the clinic or email to make an appointment to discuss your needs or concerns in strictest confidence. There is no need to obtain a referral from a professional or an agency. However, you can also ask the professional or agency with whom you have had dealings, i.e. teacher, doctor, social worker, etc. to refer you to the clinic where necessary.

Medical Practitioners, Psychologists, Social Workers, Allied Health and Education Professionals may make referrals by emailing or calling the clinic directly after discussion with their clients.

Fees
A modest fee of SGD $25 - $40 is chargeable regardless of the type of assessment or therapy. Please contact us to inquire if you qualify for our fee waiver.
